INVESTIGATION ON THE INTERACTION BETWEEN ANTIOXIDANT PEPTIDE WITH HUMAN TRANSFERRIN AND SERUM ALBUMIN BY SPECTROSCOPIC TECHNIQUES

Abstract

 THE INTERACTION BETWEEN ANTIOXIDANT PEPTIDE AND TWO DRUG CARRIER PROTEINS, HUMAN SERUM ALBUMIN (HSA) AND SERUM TRANSFERRIN (TF), WERE STUDIED AND COMPARED BY FLUORESCENCE QUENCHING, SYNCHRONOUS FLUORESCENCE SPECTRA. FLUORESCENCE DATA SHOW THAT ANTIOXIDANT PEPTIDE HAS A STRONG QUENCHING EFFECT ON HAS AND TF. THE PARTICIPATION OF TYROSYL AND TRYPTOPHAN RESIDUES OF PROTEINS WAS ALSO ESTIMATED IN THE DRUG-HSA AND HTF COMPLEXES BY SYNCHRONOUS FLUORESCENCE. THE MICROENVIRONMENT OF THE HSA AND HTF FLUOROPHORES WAS TRANSFERRED TO HYDROPHOBIC AND HYDROPHILIC CONDITIONS, RESPECTIVELY. SYNCHRONOUS FLUORESCENCE SPECTRA PROVIDE INFORMATION CONCERNING THE MOLECULAR MICROENVIRONMENT IN THE VICINITY OF FUNCTIONAL FLUOROPHORE GROUPS.
