Abstract

 INTRODUCTION: HALOPERIDOL (HPD) IS AN ANTIPSYCHOTIC MEDICATION USED TO TREAT SCHIZOPHRENIA AND OTHER PSYCHOTIC DISORDERS. HALOPERIDOL CAN IMPROVE SYMPTOMS OF THESE DISORDERS SUCH AS: HALLUCINATIONS, DELUSIONS, AND DISORGANIZED THINKING [1]. TRIFLUOPERAZINE HYDROCHLORIDE (TFP) IS A TYPICAL ANTIPSYCHOTIC DRUG OF THE PHENOTHIAZINE GROUP. IT HAS A CENTRAL ANTIADRENERGIC, ANTIDOPAMINERGIC AND MINIMAL ANTICHOLINERGIC ACTIVITY. IT MAINLY ACTS ON DOPAMINE RECEPTOR [2].
