Abstract

 M-TYPE STRONTIUM HEXAFERRITE IS A FERROMAGNETIC MATERIAL WITH HIGH MAGNETOCRYSTALLINE ANISOTROPY. COPRECIPITATION AND SOL-GEL AUTO COMBUSTION ARE TWO COMMON ROUTS FOR THE SYNTHESIS SR-HEXAFERRITE. THE ADVANTAGES OF THE MENTIONED TECHNIQUES ARE HOMOGENOUS STRUCTURE, SMALL GRAIN SIZE AND SHAPE ANISOTROPY. THE MAJOR OBJECTIVE OF THIS PAPER IS TO COMPARE THE PRODUCTS OF AUTO COMBUSTION AND COPRECIPITATION METHODS. MEASUREMENT OF MAGNETIC PROPERTIES INCLUDED COERCIVITY, AND SATURATION MAGNETIZATION. MAGNETIZATION HYSTERESIS OF STRONTIUM HEXAFERRITEIN OBTAINED BY BOTH METHODS WAS PERFORMED AT ROOM TEMPERATURE AND THE AVERAGE CRYSTALLITE SIZE WAS MEASURED BY THE X-RAY LINE BROADENING TECHNIQUE. IT WAS DEMONSTRATED THAT THE POWDERS PRODUCED BY COPRECIPITATION METHOD HAD SMALLER GRAIN SIZE, LARGER COERCIVITY BUT SMALLER SATURATION MAGNETIZATION.
