Abstract

 INTRODUCTION: CORE-SHELL MAGNETIC SILICA NANOCOMPOSITE HAVE RECENTLY BEEN APPLIED IN MANY FIELDS SUCH AS BIOSEPARATION, ENZYME IMMOBILIZATION, DIAGNOSTIC ANALYSIS AND SO ON FOR THEIR EXCELLENT MAGNETIC RESPONSIVITY, LOW CYTOTOXICITY, AND EASILY SURFACE CHEMICAL MODIFICATION [1]. SURFACE SILYLATION IS OFTEN EMPLOYED TO ACHIEVE MATERIALS WITH THE DESIREDSURFACE PROPERTIES FOR ADSORPTION [2]. IN THIS WORK, WE HAVE SYNTHESIZED A CORE-SHELL STRUCTURED MAGNETIC SILICA NANOCOMPOSITE WITH TWO SILICA SHELLS ON IRON OXIDE CORE AND THEN SURFACE SILYLATION WAS CARRIED OUT USING TRIMETHYLCHLOROSILANE TO FABRICATE HYDROPHOBIC SURFACE.
