Abstract

 THE SYNTHESIZED FE3O4 NANOPARTICLES HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED INTO THE POLYANILINE VIA INSITU POLYMERIZATION METHOD. THE RESULTING PRODUCTS ARE CHARACTERIZED BY FOURIER TRANSFORM INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY (FTIR). THE MAGNETIC PAN/FE3O4 NANOCOMPOSITE HAS BEEN EMPLOYED AS ADSORBENT FOR THE MAGNETIC SEPARATION OF DYE CONTAMINANTS FROM WATER. BATCH STUDIES WERE PERFORMED TO EVALUATE THE INFLUENCE OF VARIOUS EXPERIMENTAL PARAMETERS LIKE PH, ADSORBENT DOSAGE AND CONTACT TIME. OPTIMUM CONDITIONS FOR REACTIVE RED 120REMOVAL WERE FOUND TO BE PH 3, ADSORBENT DOSAGE OF 1 G/L, EQUILIBRIUM TIME 90 MIN.
