Abstract

 INTRODUCTION: THE USE OF MAGNETIC MATERIALS IN SOLID PHASE EXTRACTION HAS ATTRACTEDCONSIDERABLE ATTENTION DUE TOTHEIR UNIQUECHARACTERISTICS. THE RESPONSE OF THE MAGNETIC ADSORBENTS INAN EXTERNAL MAGNETIC FIELDPROVIDES THE CONDITION TO OVERCOMEPROBLEMSSUCHASCOLUMNPACKINGANDPHASESEPARATION. OF ALL THE MAGNETIC MATERIALS, MAGNETITE ISENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE, INEXPENSIVE AND CHEMICALLY STABLE ONCEFORMED [1]. HERE, WE REPORT A WELL-DEFINED PROTOCOL TO IMPART MAGNETIC ACTIVITY THROUGH FORMATION OFMAGNETITE WITHIN THE PORES OF AN ANION EXCHANGER RESIN. THE PERFORMANCE OF PREPARED ADSORBENT HAS BEEN ALSO EVALUATED IN THE REMOVAL OFP -TOLUENESULFONIC ACID (TSA) FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTION.
