Abstract

 A NOVEL POLYVINYL ALCOHOL (PVA)/ZINC OXIDE (ZNO) NANOFIBER ADSORBENT WAS SYNTHESIZED BY ELECTROSPINNING METHOD. THE MORPHOLOGY OF THE ELECTROSPUN COMPOSITENANOFIBER WAS ANALYZED BY SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPE (SEM) AND BET. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE ZINC OXIDECONCENTRATION IN THE SOLUTION HAS A SIGNIFICANT EFFECT ON THE MORPHOLOGY OF THE FIBERS.THE RESULTS OF COPPER, NICKEL AND URANIUM IONS ADSORPTION ONTO PVA/ZNO NANOFIBERS WITH DIFFERENT WEIGHT PERCENTS OF ZNO NANOPARTICLES SHOWED THAT THE OPTIMUM WEIGHT PERCENT OF ZNO NANOPARTICLE IS 20 WT%.
