Abstract

 INTRODUCTION: COPPER OXIDE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT METAL OXIDES. N-TYPE SEMICONDUCTING CU2O HAS A CUBIC CRYSTAL STRUCTURE WITH A BAND GAP OF 2.4 EV AND P-TYPE SEMICONDUCTOR CUO WITH A MONOCLINIC CRYSTAL STRUCTURE WITH A BAND GAP OF 1.2 EV, WHICH HAVE MANY APPLICATIONS IN AREAS SUCH AS GAS SENSORS [1], MAGNETIC STORAGE MEDIA, NANO DEVICES FOR CATALYSISAND FIELD EMITTERS [2]. IN RECENT YEARS, CUO HAS RECEIVED EXTENSIVE ATTENTION FOR ITS POTENTIAL APPLICATIONS IN VARIOUS FIELDS.SO FAR, MANY METHODS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED TO SYNTHESIZE CUO, SUCH AS HYDROTHERMAL ROUTE, AQUEOUS REACTION, LASER ABLATION AND ELECTRON BEAM LITHOGRAPHY [3].
