Abstract

 INTRODUCTION: SLAG IS USUALLY A MIXTURE OF METAL OXIDES AND SILICON DIOXIDE. SINCE SLAG IS CHEEP AND INDUSTRIAL WASTE AND IS AN EXCELLENT SOURCE OF SILICA WE USE FROM IT TO SYNTHESIS NANOZEOLITE [1].THE DISTRIBUTION AND CRYSTAL SIZE OF LTA ZEOLITES ARE INFLUENCED BY DIFFERENT VARIABLES SUCH AS ALUMINUM AND SILICON SOURCE, WATER CONTENT, THE TEMPLATE/SILICON MOLAR RATIO, THE NATURE OF PRESENCE CATION IN THE SYNTHESIS MIXTURE, CRYSTALLIZATION TEMPERATURE, THE TIME OF CRYSTALLIZATION AND AGING TIME [2].THE GOALS OF THIS RESEARCH ARE USING SLAG FOR THE EXTRACTION OF SILICA WITH 63.75% PURITY AS A NEW SOURCE OF SILICA IN THE FREE TEMPLATE SYNTHESIS OF NANOZEOLITE LINDE TYPE A (LTA) AT LOW TEMPERATURE.EXPERIMENTAL (OR COMPUTATIONAL) METHODS THE SIO2 POWDER WAS EXTRACTED FROM SLAGAS NATURAL SOURCE BY REFLUXED IN HCL (6N) SOLUTION.NAANANOZEOLITE WAS SYNTHESIZED BY HYDROTHERMAL METHOD. CRYSTALLIZATION AT LOW TEMPERATUREALUMINOSILICATE GEL WAS PREPARED BY MIXING FRESHLY PREPARED ALUMINATE AND SILICATE SOLUTIONS TOGETHER WITH CONTAINING 12 G OF NAOH, 1.3 G OF NAALO2, 0.94 G OF EXTRACTED SILICA, AND 50 G OF H2O WERE ADOPTED.
