Abstract

 NITROGEN OXIDES (NOX) ARE HARMFUL FOR THE ECOSYSTEM AND HUMANITY. SELECTIVE CATALYTIC REDUCTION (SCR) OF NOX BY NH3 IN THE PRESENCE OF OXYGEN IS ONE OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE METHODS TO DECREASE THE NOX LEVELS IN GASEOUS EMISSIONS [1]. IN RECENT DECADES, A VARIETY OF SCR CATALYSTS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED, WHICH CAN BE SPLIT INTO THREE MAIN GROUPS, NOBLE METALS, ION- EXCHANGED ZEOLITES, AND METAL OXIDES [2].IN THE PRESENT WORK, THE SYNTHESIZED FE-H-ZSM-5 ZEOLITE WAS MODIFIED WITH TRANSITION METALS SUCH AS COPPER, NICKEL AND ZINC USING THEIR NITRATE SOLUTIONS BY THE ION EXCHANGE METHOD. ALL SAMPLES WERE DRIED, CALCINED, AND CHARACTERIZED BY XRD AND N2 ADSORPTION/DESORPTION METHODS. SOME RESULTS ARE PRESENTED IN THE TABLE 1.
