Abstract

 CO2 IS USED IN MANY INDUSTRIES. MOST OF INDUSTRIES USE COMBUSTION OF A FUEL FOR PRODUCING CO2. WHEN CO2 EMITS TO THE ENVIRONMENT, IT LEADS TO GREENHOUSE EFFECT. BECAUSE OF PRODUCTION OF 263 MILLION TON CO2 IN 1999 IN IRAN, THAT IS GREATER THAN OTHER MIDDLE EAST COUNTRIES. SO THIS STUDY FOCUSED ON REMOVAL OF CO2 FROM POWER PLANT FLUE GASES. ALL OF CO2 SEPARATION AND PURIFICATION PROCESSES FROM FLUE GASES HAVE BEEN STUDIED AND OPTIMUM PROCESS BY CONSIDERING OF AVAILABLE EQUIPMENTS IN INSIDE OF IRAN HAS BEEN SELECTED. AFTER THAT, DESIGN OF CO2 ADSORPTION AND PURIFICATION UNIT FROM FLUE GASES OF POWER PLANT FOR USING IN FOOD INDUSTRIES HAS BEEN DONE. THE DESIGN BASED ON CO2 ABSORPTION BY MONO ETHANOL AMINE (MEA).
