Abstract

 THIS STUDY FOCUSES ON DESIGNING A COUNTER FLOW WET-COOLING TOWER, WHICH WORKS AS A HUMIDIFIER IN A DESALINATION SYSTEM. FOR THIS GOAL, THE POPPE EQUATIONS ARE DERIVED FOR A COUNTER FLOW WET COOLING TOWER AND THEN HAVE BEEN SOLVED IN ORDER TO INVESTIGATE THE OUTLET TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY OF AIR. THE VALUE OF EVAPORATION AND RELATIVE PRESSURE DROP IS CALCULATED AS WELL. THE PARETO OPTIMIZATION IS USED TO FIND THE OPTIMUM OPERATING POINT OF THIS HUMIDIFIER WITH LOW PRESSURE DROP AND SUITABLE VALUE OF EVAPORATION.
