Abstract

 THE CADMIUM TELLURIDE THIN FILMS WITH THE THICKNESS OF 650 NM WERE DEPOSITED ON GLASS SUBSTRATE BY VACUUM THERMAL EVAPORATION TECHNIQUE. IN THE PRESENT INVESTIGATION, THE EFFECT OF SUBSTRATE TEMPERATURE ON THE STRUCTURAL PROPERTIES OF THE PREPARED SAMPLES WAS STUDIED. THE STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS WAS CARRIED OUT BY X-RAY DIFFRACTION (XRD) AND FIELD EFFECT SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPY (FESEM) TECHNIQUES. CALCULATION OF STRUCTURAL PARAMETERS REVEALED THE INCREASE OF THE CRYSTALLITE SIZE UPON INCREASING THE SUBSTRATE TEMPERATURE. IT WAS ALSO OBSERVED THAT THE LAYERS CRYSTALLINITY IMPROVED DUE TO THE INCREASE IN SUBSTRATE TEMPERATURE.
