CLONING AND EXPRESSION OF VEGF 165 IN E. COLI-RECOMBINANT HUMAN VEGF FOR VASCULAR ANGIOGENESIS

Abstract

 Recombinant human VASCULAR ENDOTHELIAL GROWTH FACTOR protein (rhVEGF) stimulates ANGIOGENESIS in animal models. ANGIOGENESIS is the growth and proliferation of new blood vessels from existing vasculature. Therapeutic ANGIOGENESIS is a novel approach to the treatment of coronary and peripheral vascular disease not amenable to standard revascularization techniques. VASCULAR ENDOTHELIAL GROWTH FACTORs (VEGFs) are a family of angiogenic proteins specific for endothelial cells and essential in the process of ANGIOGENESIS. In this study, expression of VEGF 165 was performed in E. coli. The result show a high expression level of VEGF 165.
