Abstract

The aim of the present study was to compare PERFECTIONISM, ALEXITHYMIA and MENTAL HEALTH between patients with IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME (IBS) and healthy population in Clients of Ahvaz clinics of digestive diseases. The participants consisted of 72 patients and 72 healthy individual selected from retinue of patients. All patients were clinically investigated by a gastroenterologist for IBS. Psychological variables were measured by the TAS-20, APS and GHQ Questionnaires. Differences between two groups were significant in ALEXITHYMIA, PERFECTIONISM and MENTAL HEALTH. Scores of ALEXITHYMIA, mean scores of PERFECTIONISM and MENTAL HEALTH problems were significantly higher in patients group than normal group.
