Abstract

 Three dimensional HEAT TRANSFER and flow characteristics in a set up rectangular MICRO CHANNELs are numerically investigated. A finite volume solver is employed to predict the temperature filed for the conjugate HEAT TRANSFER problem in both the solid and liquid regions in the MICRO CHANNELs. The full Navier-Stokes approach is examined  for this kind of narrow channels for the momentum evaluations, then the complete form of the energy equation with the dissipation terms is also linked to the momentum equations. The computed thermal characteristics and PRESSURE DROP show good agreements with the  experimental data. The effects of flow rate and channel geometry on the heat dissipation capability and PRESSURE DROP of the system are also predicted.
