Abstract

Psychological well-being refers to an individual perception of the degree of coordination between his/her objectives on one hand and the consequences of his/her performance on the other hand. This process which is a continuous appraisal could result in the internal and rather stable satisfaction in the lifespan of an individual. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between HOPEFULNESS and RESILIENCY with the psychological well-being of the students. Given this, four hundred students (200 males and 200 females) from Tabriz University were selected by cluster sampling method and their scores of HOPEFULNESS, RESILIENCY and psychological well-being were calculated. Results of correlation coefficients and step by step regression analysis indicated that HOPEFULNESS, RESILIENCY and psychological well-being are significantly and positively correlated. Furthermore, the variations of PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLBEING of the students could be determined by predictive variables. Finally, it could be concluded that individuals with higher scores in HOPEFULNESS and RESILIENCY revealed higher level of psychological well-being.
