Abstract

 Evaluation mechanism is an instrument without which educational activities are merely "blind shooting". Making use of such a mechanism will result in an increased understanding of the flaws and deficiencies. Evaluation mechanism is carried out in two ways: internal and external. Goal of this study is Internal and INTRA-EXTERNAL UNIVERSITY EVALUATION of the department of philosophy of education in Tehran University. In this study, quantitative tools (questionnaire) and qualitative ones (interview and observation) are used. The population consists of 1) heads of the department (previous and current), 2) faculty members (5 members), 3) students (24 MA and 11PhD), 4) graduates (24 MA and 16 PhD), 5) employers (25 persons). Since the sample is small, to make an in-depth examination, a complete census has been conducted. The results indicate the extent of the desirability of the evaluated factors at the internal and INTRA-EXTERNAL UNIVERSITY EVALUATIONs is in accordance with each other.
