Abstract: 

Nano-crystalline CoFe2O4 powder was prepared by combination of sol-gel auto-combustion and ultrasonic irradiation methods from metal nitrades and glycine. The resulting powders were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The grains observed in as-burnt powder were proved to be CoFe2O4 nano-crystallites with high dispersibility and low agglomeration. The crystallite size of as-formed powders was 39.12 nm. The crystalline cobalt ferrite powders with magnetic properties having a maximum saturation magnetization (44.02 emu/g) was achieved for Fe3+/Co2+molar ratio 1: 1 and calcination temperature 750°C for 4 h. Our results indicate that this method might provide a promising option for synthesizing high-quality CoFe2O4 nano-powder.

Abstract: 

In this paper, we have studied the optical behavior of InGaAlAs /InP vertical cavity surface emitting laser emitting at 1.305 mm using simulation software PICS3D which self-consistently combines the three dimensional simulation of carrier transport, self–heating and optical wave–guiding. The gain–carrier characteristics of multi quantum well active region and features of the output light are investigated numerically. We could optimize the vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) structure by using Linear Graded – Index Separate Confinement Heterostructure that minimizes electron current leakage from multi quantum well (MQW). The optimized structure also enhances the stimulated recombination and decreases the Auger recombination rate.

Abstract: 

In this paper, the nonlinear optical responses and the optical properties modification in crown B270 glass are studied under irradiations of the CPA Ti: Sapphire laser ( t = 200 ¦s, l = 800 nm and R = KHz). The single beam zscan method and هInput-output measurement are applied to study the nonlinearity. The nonlinear refraction and absorption coefficient of the sample are evaluated at three different 4, 5 and 6 ´ 102 GW/cm2 incident intensities. The pairs of {n2 (´10-7 cm2/GW), b (´10-3 cm/GW)} are measured to be {2.06, 4.33}, {2.33, 5.82} and {2.59, 7.21}, respectively. The intensity dependency of the nonlinear refraction and absorption coefficient indicates that the higher order nonlinear responses are also encountered. The Optical power limiting threshold of the sample is measured to be about 30 mJ. An erasable modification, called color centers, is observed in the sample after irradiation with 800 nm (IR) femtosecond laser pulses.

Abstract: 

The non-neutral sheath region of a collisional electronegative discharge is investigated. It is assumed that the collision cross section have a power law dependence on the positive ion velocity. The effects of dependency of the cross section on the velocity on the profile of the positive ion velocity and electric potential are obtained. In addition, the effects of negative ion temperature and negative ion concentration on the positive ion velocity and electric potential are investigated for different values of power factor and collision amplitude of the cross section. It is shown that, the presence of the collisions leads to the diminishing the sheath thickness and the influence of the power factor is more pronounce in higher collision amplitude.

Abstract: 

The possibility to determine the thickness and electrophysical parameters of thin dielectric and metal films in sandwich- like structures using the results of measurement of reflection and transmission spectra in microwave and optical band are shown. The results of measurement of refractive index of SnO2 in the thickness range of 40 nm to 2800 nm and the results of measurement of conductivity of Cr-films applied to ceramic substrates are presented.

Abstract: 

In this article a simple model is developed for the study of the charge distribution as a result of induced electric potential to a typical single wall carbon nanotube material. By solving such a system of equations numerically, the important parameters such as the induced charge at each atom and total charge are investigated. Charge distribution for the open-ended armchair (5, 5) type carbon nanotube is computed as a function of the axial position of the atoms for different nanotubes. The effect of the carbon nanotube length variation is considered for the charge study in this article. Charge on each atom for the given armchair type carbon nanotube in infinite space having 110 atoms (L= 1.2 nm), 820 atoms (L=10 nm), 1630 atoms (L=20 nm), 2450 atoms (L=30 nm), and 3260 atoms (L=40 nm) at the induced electric voltage of 3.5 V are computed by the given model and results are compared.

Abstract: 

Differential cross sections for neutron-deuteron elastic scattering at low energies (En =1, 2.45 and 3.27 MeV) were calculated using realistic potentials (Nijm 93, Nijm I and Nijm II) which had been calculated numerically. Our calculations which based on Faddeev’s equations show a satisfactory agreement with modern experimental data. We also compared our calculations with recent one’s that based on CD-Bonn realistic potential. Comparison shows a good agreement as too.

Abstract: 

A Stochastic simulation method was employed to simulate three dimensional figures of copper nitride thin films at different partial pressure of nitrogen via Reactive DC Magnetron Sputtering on silicon. In order to analyze surface morphology and delve into the growth process we have designed and improved some models. We let each particle experience different events at the time and after reaching the surface. In addition to the morphology, saturation time and roughness changes over the time have been examined. In this paper, we have focused our studies on Cu3N thin films which have shown noticeable and lots of novel characteristics.
