Matabolic enginneering in plants have established new approaches in agriculture, environmental uses, production of chemical and medicinal materials.
In highlighting progress in plant metabolic engineering. Over the past 25 years, It is first important to stress that is in fact quite a Young Science in Plants. Attempts to use this knowledge in plants, however, first required the development of basic molecular biological technologies such as cloning, promoter analysis, protein targeting, plant transformation, biochemical genetics and other areas of plant biology.
There are three basic goals of metabolic engineering in plants: the production of more of a specific desired compound, the production of less of a specific unwanted compound and the production of a novel compound.
For achieving thesee goals include the engineering of single steps in a pathway to increase or decrease metabolic flux to target compounds, to block competitive pathways or to introduce short cuts that divert metabolic flux in a particular way. In another step plants are applied to genetic manipulate tue production of novel compounds. Attetive to economical importance of metabolic engineering methods in plant, the necessity to doing applicated projects in this field is impossible. Recently, activities is started concerning metabolic engineering in Iran.
In this study is attempted to engage on introducing and production method for material that now doing by metabolic angineering.
