Induction of Electromagnetic fields in conductive materials produces excessive heat which can later be used for melting purposes. This effect is increased as the frequency rises. For purpose various types of frequency converters are applied.
In this project Power Electronic Static Converters (PESC) are studied and applied. There Phase incomming current is rectified into a two phase direct current by a full wave Greats Bridge. This current is then passed through a DC link which finally is applied to the inverter working with the Parallel Tank circuit in the class of natural commutation.
The electronic unit controls important parameters such as current, voltage, frequency, timings, start up cycle and various other factors.
The power control unit supplies a direct connection between the power networks, cooling water, cooling fans, and also it is consisted of auxiliary transformers start up unit, auxiliary contactors, and protection fuses.
This system is fully protected against over voltage, over current over heat, decrease of water pressure, wrong sequences, and various other parameters.
