In this project which was carried out in eight girls- and boys- high- school in city of Rasht, total of 2950 students were considered.
Each student was primarily subjected to a CBC Test, and if he / she was affected by Microcytic Hypochromic Anemia and was suspected to be affected by Talasemi (i, e, he / she had one of the two following criteria: Hb<12g/ dl, McV<75fl, McH<27pg), then he / she was subjected to an Hemoglobine Electrophoresis Test. The samples who had HbA2<4%, HbF<50% or HbA<94% were classified as Minor Thalassemia. In total 418 students were identified to be affected by Microcytic Hypocromic Anemia, and in their electrophoresis 99 of them were identified as Minor Thalassemia.
