Depth of anomalies sources is an important parameter in geophysical interpretation. Interfering anomalies and high level noise due to superficial anomalies is the main problem for interpretation of potential field data, so high precision needs to interpret potential field data (gravity and magnetic field).
Quantitative result for depth interpretation can be obtain either space or wave number domain. In this work, we have focused on description of these two domains and representing related famous methods.
All classical methods of depth estimation and some simplified and practical formulas related to different condition of anomalies were introduced. One of the most famous method in depth estimation is density energy spectrum in wave number domain. In this method Fourier transform is improved by using Filon transfom. Euler equation and well known EULDPH method for depth automatic interpretation and a new method base on equivalent source points all are discussed in this work. Technical points and abilities of this method have been discussed too.
