In order to investigate the effect of elimination of draw-frame on mechanical properties of yarn, in rotor spinning system, at first, initial studies was done. Then, raw materials supplied and rotor spun yarn of 10Ne, 16Ne and 20Ne have been produced from card and draw-frame slivers by beater speeds 4500, 5000, 5500, 6000 and 6500 rpm. Then, due to determination of evenness and tension, produced yarns have been tested.
In this work, the parameters which have been investigated are variation in yarn mass (CVm%), number of thick places and thin places, nep, elongation and tenacity.
The results showed that producing rotor spun yarn by feeding card sliver directly is possible. In addition, according to parameters which have been discussed, the results showed that the tenacity of produced yarn by card sliver (Except 10Ne) are more than tenacity of produced yarn by drawn sliver, but in other properties, the statistical difference is not significant. So, producing rotor spun yarn by feeding card sliver directly for yarn of 10Ne is suggested.
