Today, Production and Consumption are known as basic concepts to understand the modern societies. Between others, Social scientists have been interested to find the social mechanism of production and consumption and the relationships between these two and other concepts in social science like leisure, identity, popular culture and everyday life. Different approaches cause to emerge different theories to study them. In this project, we try to show the formation of consumption studies. Indeed, we review some of the most important theories in this field and categorize them based on their approaches. For this, we start whit founding fathers of sociology and continue whit Marx and Marxian theories. Psychological point of view and cultural studies led us to study relationships between resistance in everyday life and decoding the practice of consumption. At last, a theoretical framework, made of the main concepts of cultural production and consumption in Iran, is suggested.
