Due to high importance of weed identification and Control in reducing Production Costs of Medicinal plants, this experiment has been Conducted 1995 to 1997 in Medicinal plants experimental Station at karaj- Tehran.
Weed populations in Lemon Balm, Peppermint, Red Sag and Pumpkins plantation have identified.
The most important weeds are:
Sorghum halepens, cyperus sp, synodon dactylon, Agropyron repens, setaria sp, Convolvulus arvensis, Cirsium arvensis, Malva sp. polygonum sp., chenopodium album, Plantago Lanceolata, Avena futua, Xanthium strumarium, Sonchus sp., Solanum sp.
To control the above mentioned weeds,
Gallant (2L/ha), (3L/ha)
Fusilad (1.5L/ha), (2.5L/ha), (3L/ha)
Dacthal (6g/ha), (10kg/ha), (3L/Ha)
have been used.
Weed control experiment have Conducted in split plot design. Our results indicated that the most suitable herbicides are Treflan (3L/ha), Pre emer. + Gallent (3L/ha), Post emer. in Lemon Balm plantation.
Treflan (3L/ha), in 4- true Leaf Stage and the first hoeing+Gallant (3L/ha), Post emer in Pumpkin Plantation; Treflan (3L/ha), Pre emer.+Gallant Fusilad (3L/ha) Post emer. In Red sag plantation and Treflan (3L/ha) or Dacllal (10kg/ha) pre emer.+Gallant or Fusilad (3L/ha) Post emer. in peppermint plantation.
