The topic which has been studied was to determine the results of the above maintained causes on IVF. This study has been done as a retrospective analysis of information. In order to do the study, the files of all 580 patients who have undergone IVF, during Aban 78 to Farvardin 80, in Royan Institute, were reviewed. From this amount the cause of infertility in 334 patients was Endometriosis or defect in male factor or tubal factor.
The prevalence of the above maintained causes was studied in the admitted patients. Tubal causes were more common than male factor defect and Endometriosis (31.7% vs 20.6% & 5.17%). The refering rate was higher in 30-35 years old women (35.6%) In most of the patients the infertility period was 5-10 years (41.9%). The total age mean in the studied population was 31 years and the mean infertility period was 9.1 years. The conception percent was 3.3% in endometriosis group, 10% in male factor defect group and 9.2% in tubal factor defect group.
It was shown after doing statistical tests than the rate of conception after IVF does not differ significantly among the patients with Endometriosis, Male factor defect and tubal factor defect.
