About 80 percents of steel making in the world is produced by continuous casting procedure. Moulds which named crystallizator have basic role in continuous or semi-continuous casting process of steel and its alloys.
The moulds are made of copper alloys. The tubular types of moulds have square or rectangular sections with different dimensions due to type of products such as bloom or billet. Now, the industrial moulds are bought from foreign companies exclusively and therefore producing them interior causes to reserve a great deal of country’s capital.
The target of this research project is to achieve manufacturing technology of 130×130 tubular square mould for steel continuous casting process, using interior industrial facilities.
By applying the hot and cold forming processes such as cold roll forming, a tubular square copper mould has been produced which has sufficient mechanical properties such as strength and hardness, also respectable microstructure compare to the industrial product sample.
