Due to more suspect toxicological properties and environmental half-lives of synthetic pesticide, plants have been identified as main sources for use as natural pesticides.
This study emphasized on A. husskenechti as a new source for natural pesticide.
In this study repellent activity and persistence of essential oil and extract of A. husskenechti were investigated against two stored product insect species Tribolium castaneum & Sitophilus oryzae at 27±10C, 65±5 %R.H under dark condition.
Furthermore, antifungal activity of essential oil and extract of this plant against Bypolaris sorkiniana & Fusarrium oryzae based on two methods: Agar diffusion and Paper discs method were investigated.
The results showed that these stored pests are more sensitive to the essential oil than the plant extract.
Also results demonstrated the efficacy of A. husskenechti essential oil for repellant against Bypolaris sorkiniana than Fusarrium oryzae. To fabricat nano-capsules Tween 80 was used as a surfactant, and PVP as co emulsion fir. Scanning Electron microscopic photograph showed that in 11000 rpm dried nano-capsules appeared to be spherical shape.
half-life time of the nano -capsulated essential oil was significantly longer than A. husskenechti oil.
