Abstract: 

Permian sequences that consist of siliciclastic Doroud Formation of Early Permian age (Asselian? Sakmarian-Early Artinskian) and carbonatic Ruteh Formation of Late Permian (Late Kubergandian-Middle Murghabian) are well exposed in Ruteh section. Doroud Formation with 138٫3 m thickness consists of 9 rock-units including 20 m fossiliferous carbonatic layers in lower part. This rests disconformably on Mobarak Formation (180 m) of Visean age. Ruteh Formation with 299,8 m thickness rests disconformably on Doroud Formation. The measured lower part of Elika Formation (80 m) lies disconformably on Ruteh Formation. We identified Conodont zones lying between the uppermost Mobarak Formation and the lower part of Elika Formation. These biozones are considered to be corresponding to international standard conodont zonation (Sweet, 1988). EarlyCarboniferous: 1- Gnathodus bilineatus-girtyi zone Early Permian: 2- Sweetognathus whitei zone Early Triassic (Griesbachian): 3- Hindeodus parvus zone based on conodont and foraminifera analysis and sedimentary physical characters, all of these sequences are deposited in shallow marine environments. The color of these conodonts, showing the CAI=4, indicates end of dried gas production.
