Abstract:

Bahram Formation exposed in the East of Zarand, is mainly composed of limestone and shale. In this area, Bahram formation with a sandstone conformably overlays sibzar formation and is underlaid conformably by shishto formaion.
Field and Laboratory studies indicate four facies groups in Bahram formation. This groups includes: Faices groups open marine environment, barrier, lagoonal and facies groups beach environment Based on the study of Vertical and Lateral Facies Variations and its comparison with recent Sedimentary environments a sedimentary model is proposed for the study area. Acording to what has mentioned carbonate platform of Bahram is similar to the Florida continental shelf.
