INTRODUCTION: NOWADAYS, THE SUBMERGED BREAKWATERS ARE USED EXTENSIVELY IN THE COASTAL AREAS TO PROTECT THEM AGAINST THE EROSION. THE MAIN APPLICATION OF THESE BREAKWATERS AT THE COASTLINES IS TO REDUCE THE WAVE ENERGY BY WAVE BREAKING AND IN TURN DECAY OF ITS ENERGY, BEFORE IT REACHES TO THE COASTLINE. THIS APPLICATION CAN PROTECTS FROM THE NATURAL VIEW OF THE COAST.
IN PRESENT STUDY, THE TRANSMITTED CURRENT OVER THE SUBMERGED BREAKWATER ARE INVESTIGATED USING THE ANALYTICAL MODEL OF MASSEL AND BRINKMAN [1]. THIS ANALYTICAL MODEL ARE REVIEWED AND CALIBRATED BY GOURLAY [2] EXPERIMENTAL DATA. THIS ANALYTICAL MODEL HAD BEEN CONSIDERED FOR THE REEFS OF 1/30 TO 1/80 SLOPES, BUT HERE THE APPLICATION OF MENTIONED MODEL IS INVESTIGATED TO THE SUBMERGED BREAKWATERS WHICH HAVE STEEPER SLOPES (1/1).
