Abstract: 

IN ORDER TO STUDY THE EFFECT OF CORONA-DISCHARGE AND THE ADDITION OF HE BUFFER GAS ON THE GAIN COEFFICIENT IN TE N2-LASERS, AN EXPERIMENTAL SET-UP CONSISTS OF AN OSCILLATOR AND AN AMPLIFIER (OSC-AMP), BOTH OPERATING WITH CORONA-PREIONIZER HAS BEEN USED. THE DETAILS OF OUR MEASUREMENTS ARE PRESENTED. IN ADDITION, WE HAVE FOUND THAT THE GAIN COEFFICIENT IN TE LASERS FOLLOWS A CHARACTERISTIC CURVE SHOWING THAT THE LENGTH OF LASER CHANNEL HAS AN IMPORTANT EFFECT ON THE MEASURED GAIN VALUES.
