Abstract: 

POROUS SILICON (PS) LAYERS COME INTO EXISTENCE AS A RESULT OF ELECTROCHEMICAL ANODIZATION ON SILICON. UP TO NOW A GREAT DEAL OF RESEARCH HAS BEEN DONE ON THE FORMATION AND OPTICAL PROPERTIES ESPECIALLY PHOTOLOMINECENT (PL) OF THIS MATERIAL, THE EXACT MECHANISM INVOLVED IS NOT WELL KNOWN YET. IT SEEMS THAT POROUSITY, SURFACE ROUGHNESS IN NM DIMENSION, SHOWS QUANTUMIC EFFECTS IN ABSORPTION AND REFLECTION PROCESS OF PS. IN THIS ARTICLE, FIRST, K.K. METHOD [1] FOR CALCULATION OPTICAL CONSTANTS IS DESCRIBED. THEN, AFTER CALCULATING THE OPTICAL CONSTANTS OF SI AND PS THE RESULTS ARE DESCRIBED AND COMPARED.
