Abstract: 

THE ENERGY AND AVERAGE DISTANCE BETWEEN PARTICLES IN THE GROUND STATE ARE STUDIED FOR MUONIC HELIUM ATOMS (3HE+2ME AND 4 HE+2ME), WITH THE USE OF BOUNDARY CONDITIONS OF THE WAVE FUNCTIONS. SIMPLE WAVE FUNCTION INCORPORATING LOCAL PROPERTIES IS DEVELOPED, WITH ONE VARIATIONAL PARAMETER. THE CALCULATED VALUES FOR ENERGY AND EXPECTATION VALUES OF R2N IN GROUND STATE ARE COMPARED WITH THE CORRELATION FUNCTION HYPER SPHERICAL HARMONIC METHOD. IT IS CONCLUDED THAT THE PROPOSED WAVE FUNCTIONS IN ADDITION TO BEING VERY SIMPLE, PROVIDES RELATIVELY ACCURATE RESULTS FOR MENTIONED PARAMETERS AND SHOWS THE IMPORTANCE OF THE LOCAL PROPERTIES OF THE WAVE FUNCTIONS.
