Abstract: 

WE PRESENT A NEW APPROACH TO ANALYSIS THE DEFORMATION OF THE LEFT VENTRICLE OF THE HEART BASED ON ACTIVE MESH MODEL THAT GIVES A COMPACT REPRESENTATION OF A SET OF POINTS IN A 3-D IMAGE. IT IS COMPOSED OF TOPOLOGY AND GEOMETRY OF THE OBJECT AND ASSOCIATED ELASTIC MATERIAL PROPERTIES. THE METHOD IS IMAGE MODALITY INDEPENDENT. THE RESULTS OF EVALUATION ON A FOUR SET OF IMAGE SEQUENCE REPORTED IN THIS PAPER CLEARLY DEMONSTRATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE ALGORITHM.
