Abstract: 

LINEAR METHODS IGNORES MANY CHARACTERISTICS OF COMPLICATED SYSTEMS, THIS CAUSES AN ADDITIONAL ERROR IN MODELING. IN THIS PAPER, NONLINEAR METHODS HAVE BEEN USED TO ANALYZE HEART BEAT SIGNALS. WE HAVE APPLIED FRACTAL METHODS TO COMPARE THE HEART BEAT SIGNAL OF A NORMAL SUBJECT TO THAT OF AN ABNORMAL ONE. FRACTAL ANALYSIS SHOWS THAT HEART BEAT SIGNAL OF A NORMAL PERSON HAS NONLINEAR CHARACTERISTIC WHEREAS THE HEARTBEAT OF AN ABNORMAL PERSON HAS LINEAR CHARACTERISTIC IN THE STATE OF NONLINEARITY, HEART BEAT HAS MULTIFRACTAL CHARACTERISTICS, WHILE IN THE STATE OF LINEARITY IT HAS MONOFRACTAL CHARACTERISTICS.
