Abstract:

INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION HAS BEEN IN EXISTENCE AS LONG AS PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT CULTURES HAVE BEEN COMMUNICATING EACH OTHER. JUST SYSTEMATIC STUDY OF CROSS-CULTURE CONTACTS IS NEW WHEN CONTACTS AND INTERACTION HAPPEN, WHEN MESSAGE RECEIVER AND MESSAGE PRODUCER ARE FROM DIFFERENT CULTURES. LANGUAGE IS A WAY OF MARKING CULTURAL IDENTITY. LANGUAGE CANNOT BE USED WITHOUT MEANING AND REFERRING BEYOND ITSELF. THE MEANING OF A PARTICULAR POINT TO THE CULTURE OF A PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUP AND THE MEANING. A TRANSLATOR IS THE FIRST READER OF THE OTHER CULTURE, CONSEQUENTLY, HAS TO PRESENT. TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING STUDIES AND INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION HAVE BEEN TREATED AS SEPARATE DISCIPLINES. INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION IS THE SENDING AND RECEIVING OF MESSAGES ACROSS LANGUAGES AND CULTURES. IT IS ALSO NEGOTIATED UNDERSTANDING OF MEANING IN HUMAN EXPERIENCES ACROSS SOCIAL SYSTEMS AND SOCIETIES. THE TRANSLATOR DEALS WITH A SOURCE TEXT PRODUCED UNDER SOURCE-CULTURE CONDITIONS FOR A SOURCE-CULTURE AUDIENCE. THE PRIMARY GOAL OF THIS PAPER IS TO DISCUSS THE PROBLEM OF CULTURAL DIFFERENCES AND CULTURAL ASPECTS IN A LITERARY TEXT AS WELL AS THE WAYS OF THEIR TRANSLATION BY MEANS OF SOME SPECIFIC STRATEGIES.
