Abstract:

IN ORDER TO FIND AN EFFECTIVE CHEMICAL FOR CONTROLING OF JAPANESE BROME (BROMUS JAPONICUS) IN WHEAT FIELDS, AN EXPERIMENT WAS CONDUCTED DURING 2007-2009, AT THE FIELD OF FACULITY AGRICULTURE, ZABOL UNIVERSTY. THE EXPERIMENT WAS ARRANGED AS A FACTORIAL USING RANDOMIZED COMPLETE BLOCK DESIGNED WITH NINE TREATMENTS AND THREE REPLICATIONS. THE THREE HERBICIDE WERE SULPHOSULPHORON (WG 75%) (APYRUS) AT 26.6G/HA, METSULPHORON METYLE (WG 75%) + SULPHOSULPHORON (WG 75%) (TOTAL) AT 45G/HA AND PINOXADEN (EC%) (AXIAL) AT 450 G/HA; AND THREE SPRAYING TIME INCLUDING, BEFORE TILLERING, AT TILLERING AND AFTER TILLERING STAGES OF WHEAT. WEED DRY WEIGHT WAS MEASURED AT 30 AND 60 DAYS AFTER SPRAYING AND ALSO AT CROP HARVEST TIME. IN ADDITION WHEAT GRAIN YIELD WAS MEASURED. THE RESULTS SHOWED THAT SULPHOSULPHORON AND METSULPHORON METYLE+SULPHOSULPHORON HAD THE MOST EFFECTIVENESS ON BROMUS CONTROL AT PRIOR TILLERING APPLICATION. APPLICATION OF THESE TWO HERBICIDES AT WHEAT TILLERING STAGE, CONTROLLED B. JAPONICUS VERY WELL. APPLICATION OF SULPHOSULPHORON AND METSULPHORON METYLE+ SULPHOSULPHORON AFTER WHEAT TILLERING SHOWED THE SAME EFFECTS ON HAD NO EFFECT, AND PREVENTED ITS GROWTH AND SEED FORMATION. SULPHOSULPHORON AND METSULPHORON METYLE+ SULPHOSULPHORON AT ALL THREE APPLICATIONS TIME HAD NOT NEGATIVE EFFECTS ON WHEAT GROWTH. PINOXADEN HAD NO EFFECT ON WHEAT AND WEED. REGARDING TO ABSENCE OF PRECIPITATION AT EARLY GROWTH STAGES OF WHEAT IN SISTAN AND BALUCHISTAN PROVINCE AND OTHER SIMILAR CLIMATE, RESULTS SUGGESTED THAT APPLICATION OF SULPHOSULPHORON OR METSULPHORON METYLE+ SULPHOSULPHORON TAL COULD CONTROL B. JAPONICUS IN EARLY GROWTH STAGE OF WHEAT.
