Abstract: 

IN ORDER TO EVALUATE THE EFFECTS OF WEED CONTROL TREATMENTS ON LENTIL YIELD AND YIELD COMPONENTS AN EXPERIMENT WAS PERFORMED IN A RANDOMIZED COMPLETE BLOCK DESIGN WITH THREE REPLICATIONS AT RESEARCH FARM OF TEHRAN UNIVERSITY AT KARAJ DURING 2008-2009. WEED CONTROL TREATMENTS INCLUDED: CHEMICAL TREATMENT TRIFLURALIN 980 GR A.I./HA AS PRE-PLANT INCORPORATED INTO SOIL PLUS ONE HAND WEEDING, ALACHLOR 2.8 KG A.I./HA AS PRE EMERGENCE SPRAYED ON SURFACE SOIL, FULL HAND WEEDING FROM SOWING TO HARVEST, AND WEED FREE TREATMENT (CONTROL). FULL HAND WEEDING AND ALACHLOR CONTROL TREATMENTS HAD THE HIGHEST SEED & BIOLOGICAL YIELD. IN ALACHLOR TREATMENT THE WEED DRY MATTER ACCUMULATION WAS LOWER AS COMPARE TO TRIFLURALIN+ONE HAND WEEDING.
