Abstract:

IN THIS STUDY THE EFFICACY OF BUTTRESS (2, 4-DB 42.3%EC) IN WEED CONTROL OF ALFALFA WAS COMPARED WITH COMMON HERBICIDES IN ALFALFA. THIS EXPERIMENT WAS CONDUCTED IN HAMEDAN DURNG 1386-1387 IN A RANDOMIZED COMPLETE BLOCK DESIGN WITH 3 REPLICATIONS AND 11 TREATMENTS USING BENTAZON, BUTRESS, PERSUIT, AND WEEDY CHECK IN NEW SEEDED ALFALFA. THE EFFECT OF THE HERBICIDES ON ALFALFA BIOMASS AND THE BIOMASS AND DENSITY OF WEEDS WAS STUDIED. THE CHEMICAL TREATMENTS HAD NO PHYTOTOXOCITY ON ALFALFA. BASAGRAN CAUSED CHLOROSIS IN ALFALFA THAT RECOVERED AFTER 1 TO 2 WEEKS. ALL OF HERBICIDES WERE BETTER THAN CONTROL IN VIEW OF WEED CONTROL. BUTRESS CONTROLLED CONVOLVULUS, TOO. THE BEST TREATMENTS FOR WEED CONTROL ESPECIALLY IN THE FIRST CUTTING WERE BUTREES 3.1 AND PERSUIT 1L/HA AND AFTER THEM BAZAGRAN.
