Abstract:

THIS STUDY WAS CONDUCTED IN THE 2007 AND 2008 GROWING SEASON AT THE AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH CENTER OF SAFIABAD. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN WAS RANDOMIZED COMPLETE BLOCK WITH 10 TREATMENTS AND 4 REPLICATIONS. HERBICIDE TREATMENTS WERE: 1-TOPSTAR (OXADIARGIL 3% EC) +GALLANT SUPER (HALOXYFOP-R-METHYL ESTER 10.8% EC) AT 1.5+0.75 L/HA POST EMERGENCE, 2- GOAL (OXYFLUORFEN 24% EC) AT 0.75+0.75 L/HA POST EMERGENCE 3- GOAL 1.5 L/HA POST EMERGENCE 4-TOTRIL (IOXYNIL 22.5% EC) +GALLANT SUPER AT 3+0.75 L/HA POST EMERGENCE, 5- TOPSTAR 1.5 L/HA POST EMERGENCE, 6-GALLANT (HALOXYFOP ETHOXY ETHYL 12.5% EC) AT 2 L/HA POST EMERGENCE, 7- GOAL 1.5 L/HA PREEMERGENCE, 8- TOTRIL 3 L/HA POST EMERGENCE, 9- WEED FREE CHECK 10-WEEDY CHECK. THE RESULTS SHOWED THAT APPLICATION OF GOAL (0.75+0.75 L/HA POST EMERGENCE) WAS BETTER THAN OTHER TREATMENTS. THEREFORE IT IS RECOMMENDED FOR WEED CONTROL AND INCREASE OF ONION YIELD.
