Abstract:

ONE OF METHODS FOR CONTROLLING BROAD LEAVES IN CANOLA IS APPLICATION OF HERBICIDES SUCH AS TRIFLORALIN. IN THIS RESEARCH, EFFECT OF TRIFLORALIN ON SEED GERMINATION PERCENT AND RATE AND EARLY GROWTH FACTORS (SHOOT AND ROOT LENGTH, SHOOT DIAMETER) OF SECALE CEREALE L., AVENA FATUA L., BROMUS TECTORUM L. AND BRASSICA NAPUS L. WERE STUDIED. TREATMENTS WERE APPLICATION OF TRIFLORALIN AT 0, 0.5, 0.7, 1 AND 2 L/HA. EXPERIMENT WAS A COMPLETE RANDOMIZED DESIGN WITH THREE REPLICATIONS. RESULT INDICATED THAT TRIFLORALIN INCREASED GERMINATION RATE OF ALL SEEDS (A=5%). AND DID NOT EFFECT ON GERMINATION PERCENT. LOW CONCENTRATION OF HERBICIDE (.05, .07 L/ HA) INCREASED SHOOT DIAMETER BUT HIGH CONCENTRATION OF HERBICIDES (1, 2 L/ HA) SHOOT DIAMETER, LENGTH OF SHOOT AND ROOT WAS DECREASED (Α=5%). TRIFLORALIN HAD NO EFFECT ON GERMINATION PERCENT AND EARLY GROWTH OF CANOLA AND, HOWEVER, AFFECTED SIGNIFICANTLY ON BROMUS TECTORUM.
