Abstract:

IN ORDER TO STUDY THE REACTION OF THREE BARELY AND THIRTEEN WHEAT CULTIVARS TO METRIBUZIN, A FACTORIAL EXPERIMENT WAS CONDUCTED AS A COMPLETELY RANDOMIZED BLOCK, WITH THREE REPLICATIONS. TREATMENTS INCLUDED WHEAT (BACK CROSS ROSHAN, ARVAND, BAHAR, SEPAHAN, GARMSIRI, GASCOSION, SAYONZ, BAM GARMSIRY, GHODS, PISHTAZ, CHAMRAN AND SHOORI 6), BARELY (MACOUYI, KAROON AND BAHMAN) CULTIVARS AND METRIBUZIN RATES (0, 250, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 AND 3000 G HA-1). TREATMENTS APPLIED AT 3-4 LEAF STAGE. RESULTS SHOWED THAT METRIBUZIN HAD A SIGNIFICANT EFFECT (P<0.01) ON ALL WHEAT AND BARLEY CULTIVARS. BARELY CULTIVARS WERE MORE TOLERANT THAN WHEAT AND AMONG WHEAT CULTIVARS; ARVAND AND SHOORI 6 CULTIVARS WERE MOST AND LESS TOLERANCE TO METRIBUZIN APPLICATION.
