Abstract: 

IN ORDER TO STUDY THE RESPONSE OF WEED SPECIES’ NUTSEDGES AND LAMBSQUARTER TO NITROGEN AND RIMSULFURON HERBICIDE APPLICATION, AN EXPERIMENT WAS CONDUCTED DURING 2008-2009 AT AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH CENTER OF JIROFT. THE EXPERIMENT WAS ARRANGED AS SPLIT PLOTS DESIGN WITH THREE REPLICATIONS. HERBICIDE RIMSULFURON (TITUS 25% DF) AT 5 LEVELS AND NITROGEN AT 4 LEVELS WERE RESPECTIVELY THE MAIN AND SUB TREATMENTS. HERBICIDE WAS APPLIED AT 0, 30, 40, 50 AND 60 GR.HA-1 AND NITROGEN AT 0, 90, 180 AND 270 KG.HA-1. BEFORE AND AFTER HERBICIDE APPLICATION WEED DENSITY AND WEED BIOMASS WERE DETERMINATE. THE RESULTS SHOWED THAT TITUS HERBICIDE COULD CONTROL CHENOPODIUM ALBUM BUT FAILED TO CONTROL SYPERUS ROTUNDUS. EFFECTS OF LEVELS OF NITROGEN ON WEEDS BIOMASS HAD SIGNIFICANT EFFECT. RIMSULFURON AND NITROGEN ALONE AND INTERACTION OF BOTH FACTORS HAD SIGNIFICANT EFFECTS ON THE YIELD OF POTATO. IN GENERAL, THE RESULTS OF THIS STUDY INDICATED THAT H60N90 TREATMENT HAD LOWEST DENSITY OF LAMBS QUARTER AND RIMSULFURON HAD MINIMUM INJURY TO POTATO.
