Abstract: 

A FIELD EXPERIMENT WAS CONDUCTED TO EVALUATE VARIOUS BUTACHLOR DOSE ON YIELD AND YIELD COMPONENTS OF LINE 843 AND KHAZAR CULTIVAR IN RICE RESEARCH STATION IN 2008. THE EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN WAS A SPLIT PLOT WHERE THE WHOLE PLOT PORTION WAS A RANDOMIZED COMPLETE BLOCK WITH FOUR REPLICATIONS. MAIN PLOTS WERE HERBICIDE RATES (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 AND 5 LITRE HA-1 OF BUTACOLOR) APPLIED AT TWO OR -LEAF STAGE OF BARNYARDGRASS. THE SUBPLOTS WERE TWO RICE CULTIVARS (LINE 843 AND KHAZAR CULTIVAR, THE MOST AND THE LEAST COMPETITIVENESS CULTIVARS, RESPECTIVELY). RESULTS SHOWED THAT IN BOTH LINE 843 AND KHZAR CULTIVAR, GRAIN YIELD, FERTILE TILLER NUMBER PER SQUARE METER AND GRAIN NUMBER PER PANICLE WERE INCREASED WITH INCREASING DOSE OF THE HERBICIDE (BUTACHLOR). IN CONTRAST, THOUSAND GRAIN WEIGHTS DID NOT SIGNIFICANTLY AFFECTED BY DIFFERENT BUTACHLOR DOSE. MOREOVER, IT WAS ILLUSTRATED THAT IN LINE 843 AND KAZAR CULTIVAR, MAXIMUM YIELD WAS OBTAIN WITH 2 AND 4 LITRE. HA-1 BUTACHOLOR APPLICATION, RESPECTIVELY.
