Abstract: 

Appearance of groundwater inflow into Sechahoun mine pit has created a lot of problems in mining activities. In order to design a dewatering system in this mine, groundwater regime is to be known. In this way, geology, tectonics, hydrology, and hydro geological investigations have been performed. Hydraulic conductivity and rock mass properties have been evaluated using bore hole tests.In order to model the groundwater flow, MODFLOW (version 5.3) has been used. In this modeling the calibration of the model shows 97% of correlation coefficient.
Studies show that the crashed zones in the bed rock are the main reason of the appearance of groundwater in the area of mining. The orientation of the crashed zones is south-east to north-west and water is conveyed to the mine in this direction. According to the studies the suggested method for dewatering is the pumping wells, however, more investigations are necessary.
