Abstract: 

SWALLOW- WORT (CYNANCHUM ACUTUM L.) IS AN INVASIVE PLANT WITH SEXUAL AND VEGETATIVE REPRODUCTION. INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT OF THIS WEED IS ONE OF THE SUITABLE WAYS TO CONTROL IT. IN ORDER TO INVESTIGATE THE EFFECT OF DESICCATION ON SWALLOW- WORT AN EXPERIMENT WAS CONDUCTED WITH A FACTORIAL ARRAGEMENT IN A COMPLETELY RANDOMIZED DESIGN WITH 3 REPLICATIONS IN GREENHOUSE OF AGRICULTURAL AND NATURAL RESOURCES RESEARCH CENTER YAZD. EXPERIMENTAL FACTORS WERE TEMPERATURE OF DESICCATION (15 AND 35° C) AND DURATION OF DESICCATION (0, 24, 48, 72 AND 96 HOURS). C. ACUTUM ROOTA WERE DIVIDED TO 10CM PARTS AND THEN TREATED BY TEMPERATURE AT DIFFERENT DURATION OF DESICCATIONS. 45 DAYS AFTER GERMINATION OF C. ACUTUM, NUMBER OF LEAF, THE LENGTH AND DRY WEIGHT OF SHOOT WERE MEASURED. THE BEST TREATMENT WAS DESICCATION AT 35° C WITH 72 HOURS, WHICH WAS DESTRUCTIVE. HOWEVER, INCREASING TIME OF DESSICATION (96 HOURS) AT 15° CAUSED COMPLETE CONTROL. ACCORDING TO THE RESULTS, PLOUGH COULD BEEFFECTIVE TO CONTROL THIS WEED WHEN MOST OF THE ROOTS DIRECTLY ARE INFLUENCED BY SUN RADIATION.
