Abstract:

FLORISTIC CHARACTERISTICS OF NEW AND OLD POMEGRANATE GARDENS OF ZIRTANG SIAB KOHDASHT LORESTAN WAS INVESTIGATED IN 2008. WEED POPULATION DENSITY OF OLD GARDEN WAS 23.51% MORE THAT OF NEW GARDENS. IN NEW GARDENS, CYNODON DACTYLON WAS THE MOST PREVALENT SPECIES. IN NEW GARDENS, THE MAJOR COMMON WEEDS CARTHAMUS OXYACANTHUS, VICIA SPP., SINAPIS ARVENSIS, MEDICAGO SPP., LACTUCA SPP., AVENA LUDOVICIANA AND LATHYRUS SPP. THUS, RELATIVE ABUNDANCE WAS BELONGED TO ANNUAL BROAD LEVEL SPECIES. IN OLD GARDENS, THE MAJOR COMMON WEEDS WERE SETARIA SPP., RUMEX SPP., AND PLANTAGO MAJOR, STELLARIA SPP., AND SANGUISORBA MINOR. IN OLD GARDENS, HALF OF SPECIES WAS PERENNIAL. THIS IS SHOW THE INCREASE OF PERENNIAL DOMINANCE IN RELATION TO ANNUALS AS GARDEN AGE IS INCREASED.
