Abstract: 

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PRESENT ENERGY RESOURCES ARE POWER PLANTS. HUMAN BEINGS’ HEALTH HAS BEEN AFFECTED DUE TO POWER PLANTS’ POLLUTION. THEREFORE, IT IS IMPORTANT TO UTILIZE CONTROL EQUIPMENT’S TO PREVENT THE EMISSION OF GREENHOUSE GASES AND POLLUTANTS SUCH AS CO2 AND NOX. ISFAHAN STEEL PLANT IS LOCATED ABOUT 45 KILOMETERS SOUTH-EAST OF THE CITY OF ISFAHAN. ELECTERICITY IS PRODUCED IN THE DEDICATED ISFAHAN STEEL FACTORY THERMAL POWER PLANT. USING THE EXHAUST GAS OF BLAST FURNACE OF THE PLANT AS A FUEL USED IN THE BOILER COMBUSTION PROCCESS OF THE POWER PLANT LEADS IT TO CONSUME LESS NATURAL GASES WHICH WILL RESULT IN REDUCTION OF GENERATED AIR POLLUTION. THE PAPER PRESENTS IMPACTS OF USING THE MENTIONED METHOD ON AIR POLLUTANTS AND GREENHOUSE GASES, AND CONSEQUENTLY CALCULATING SOCIAL COSTS OF CO2 AND NOX POLLUTANTS. RESULTS SHOW THAT USING THE EXHAUST GASES OF BLAST FURNACE LEADS TO REDUCTION OF UP TO 40 PERCENT OF AIR POLUTION.
